Details for the 2019 GMC Sierra Elevation

By Emily Eppley | July 27th, 2018

With the launch of the updated 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 series comes a new wrinkle in the lineup called the Sierra Elevation. It makes a bold design statement, offers great capability, and advanced connectivity. GMC bases the Sierra Elevation on the double-cab model and offers it in two- or four-wheel-drive configurations.

“The 2019 Sierra Elevation conveys a youthful, athletic presence that demonstrates GMC’s tailored approach,” said Rich Latek, GMC marketing director. “With inherent truck capabilities and functionality, Elevation is able to take you off the beaten path along with your gear while standing out from the pack.”

The new 2019 Sierra Elevation offers a sleek, monochromatic look, with the door handles, bumpers and grille surrounded all painted to match one another. To provide a little contrast, GMC painted the grille insert, tow hooks, window trim, and 20-inch wheels black. New LEDs handle all the all the exterior lighting, including the fog lights, with striking C-shaped running lights. Inside, an updated 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard.

Under all these stylish additions is a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s lighter and more efficient than the V-6 engine it replaces, plus its 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque outmuscles the old V-6. This engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Next Generation 2019 GMC Sierra Elevation makes a statement in design, capability and advanced connectivity.

If you’re looking for more power, you can opt for the 5.3-liter V-8 pared to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Or if you’re looking for diesel, you can wait until the Sierra Elevation with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine arrives in early-2019.

GMC designed the Sierra Elevation to handle your gear with ease. The 89.1 cubic feet of bed volume in standard box models can handle your kayaks, camping supplies, mountain bikes, motorcycles, and more. Thanks to additional tie-downs, enhanced cargo lighting and larger rear corner steps, loading and securing gear just got easier. A 120-volt outlet in the rear supplies power to equipment needed for a day at the campsite or on the trails.

Stay connected with the 8-inch GMC Infotainment System that incorporates Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and comes standard on the 2019 Sierra Elevation. Stream your favorite tunes on the six-speaker audio system and connect to a premium GMC Infotainment System that incorporates a higher-resolution touchscreen, advanced personalization features, voice recognition, and available in-vehicle apps. Upgrade to a seven-speaker Bose premium audio system for higher-quality sound. Plus, USB Type A and Type C ports for charging mobile devices are now standard.
